A few books rolled into one

I loved the first few chapters: they read like a gripping action thriller. Once that was resolved, Part 2 felt like a bolted-on book, as did Part 3. The three parts were exciting in their own way, but they didn't flow well. Overall, it wasn't a bad book, and it was indeed classic techno-thriller fare from Douglas, so worth a read if you are a fan of the author or genre.

Very Preachy

The first book of the installment was far better. This one is very preachy and goes on and on about one's belief, and then a lengthy, boring debate between two sides regarding technology, and then more preaching. It also feel very unpolished, the dialogue sometimes sounds like a TV script rather than a book.

Really?

Seriously this guy has really interesting science and tech in his books but he tells the exact same story over and over. Jihadists are going to wipe out America. This is seriously the plot to ALL of his books. He uses the phrase "bad actors" over and over in every single book and repeats so many other phrases that it's like his books are made from a template. It's ridiculous smh. For a guy writing fiction, he certainly has very little originality or imagination. It makes me sad because the theories on the sciences and tech are really cool. What a shame.

Thought Provoking Spy type novel

This incorporates issues from today with the what-if's of tomorrow. Fast-paced it has all the hallmarks of a James Bond action film with what would be the consequences if people could access the internet through mind implants. Attractive as it can be the book highlights "be careful what you wish for".
I found the characters engaging and I wanted to know what was going to happen- the narrator was good as he was able to give distinctive voices to the characters so tha you could easily pick up on who was speaking without sounding idiotic.
If you want a fast paced action novel that makes you stop and say "what would I do" then I would recommend.
