Publisher's Summary

The Adventures of Tom Bombadil is a collection of poetry written by J. R. R. Tolkien and was first published in 1962. The audio is read by Sir Derek Jacobi and is a collection of 16 poems that contain an assortment of bestiary verse and fairy tale rhyme. It is a stunning recording that captures all the characters in their own charming and mysterious ways. Throughout Jacobi's performance we will encounter all of these, including the Oliphaunt, a Princess, the man in the moon and even a giant turtle-fish called Fastitocalon.

A must for any Tolkien fan

Tolkien's verse is simple and delightful and, at times, very beautiful. Derek Jacobi is, of course, inimitable.

Audibly delicious!

The imagery in the poems are brilliantly expressed. It's like a audio-visual painting.

The narrator skillfully, engages in communicating the right tone of voice which aids the imagery of the content.

Love Tolkien

It was easy listening of a book that I have known for most of my life. Would I chance anything? No I don’t think so. Maybe have Stephen Fry or Christopher Tolkien to read it
I would and have recommended it to my children all are huge Tolkien fans.
