And in that tree there is a tree house. Publisher's Summary
Alice-Miranda Highton-Smith-Kennigton-Jones can't wait to start boarding school. When she arrives at Winchesterfield-Downsfordvale Academy for Proper Young Ladies, the adventure begins...only not quite as Alice-Miranda expects.
The minute she sets foot on the school's manicured grounds, she senses that something is wrong: Miss Grimm, the headmistress, is nowhere to be seen; the gardens have no flowers; and a mysterious stranger seems to be hiding out on the premises.
But that's not all. Some girls are mean and spoiled, like Alethea Goldsworthy. Can Alice-Miranda defeat Alethea in one of three difficult tests she must pass to remain at school? Will she discover Winchesterfield-Downsfordvale's big secret and make things right? Well, if anyone can, it's Alice-Miranda!

I really loved this book! Way better than I expected after seeing the cover!
This book is exciting and the perfect book to get your emotions running high.
I loved the posh manner of the book!
I very much recommend this book for readers looking for a new series.
The only thing about this book is that it isn’t the best to go to sleep to because there is so much going on making it hard to relax fully. Otherwise it is great!

The whole family enjoyed it!
Our 8 year old girl has loved reading all of the Alice Miranda books, and we all watched the movie as a family on movie night. We have had to do some driving lately, and since the first book was free I thought we would give it a try... The reading of it just absolutely spot on and perfect, and the story itself was thoroughly enjoyed by our 6 year old boy and girl, and as an adult listener I was captivated and couldn't wait for each new chapter.
Am purchasing book two as soon as I've written this review...
