What disappointed you about The Sweet Life in Paris?
To many American phrases like "I made a bolt for the door" when he decided to leave a place, "slam dunk" etc etc
Would you ever listen to anything by David Lebovitz again?
No, probably best he sticks to cookbooks in my opinion
Who might you have cast as narrator instead of David Drummond?
Max Winter has a far more pleasurable voice but it would be wasted on this audiobook
What character would you cut from The Sweet Life in Paris?
Any additional comments?
If you have fallen in love with Paris and want a more moving nostalgic experience look for a different book
I have only listened to part of the book, which I purchased on impulse without listening to the sample. The narrator's voice would be more suited to scientific or other scholarly content. His voice is reminiscent of a narrator from an educational program.
This book really could have used someone who had a more mellow and relaxed style, and who could pronounce French correctly. I'm feeling conflicted -- I am really interested in the content, but I'm not sure I can get through the rest of it.
From now on I will always, always listen to the sample before purchasing.

This book is a lovely telling of David Libovitz's story as he is getting used to a permanent life in Paris. As dreamers, we all wonder what it would be like to move to a different place permanently and often, probably overlook the trials and tribulations that you have to go through when doing so. Cultural differences seem much bigger when you look through the eyes of a resident, not just a tourist. David brought plenty of funny and heartwarming stories about his adventures. I am just left wanting a bit more - I felt the book was a bit short. Regardless, what is there is wonderful and I'm sure that you will enjoy it.
