Great book, fantastic author.

I loved Brodie's reading of her book No Way! Okay, Fine. Her lived experiences remind me so much of my own. Through well written chapters and great pop culture references she navigates he story of growing up as a body pos feminist. What an angel.

Kanye West would be proud

No Way Okay Fine is beautifully written and incredibly hard to put down. Brodie unflinchingly shares her feelings and experiences to reveal a vulnerability Kanye would be proud of. I’ve learnt a bit more about myself from hearing her talk about herself.

I wanted to like this but it was utterly tedious

I usually appreciate Brodie's shorter pieces and was expecting something great here but I am sad to say that I thoroughly disliked this book. Some reviews indicated that others have enjoyed it but, personally, I found it a real chore to try and get through.

So many parts of Brodie's story dragged on endlessly as if she didn't have anything of significance to say beyond wallowing in past upsets and getting literary vengeance for various slights she has suffered. There were a few moments of brightness but, for the most part, I found the book to be overly dramatic yet painfully boring at the same time - a flaw not remedied in the slightest by the author's monotonous delivery.
