Story
If I'm going to tell the story of a life, my life, then I need to tell it warts and all. If the tale is too saccharine sweet then what can the reader take away from it? What do they learn about you? I've written everything down. The shit, the death, fun, naughtiness, addiction, laughter, laughter, laughter, some tears and lots of love and happiness. That, to me, is a better reflection of a human's life.

Story
Where do comedians come from? Why is it that one person is a funny bloke down the pub while another actually makes a living by standing up in front of an audience telling jokes? And where does all that material come from? Well, young Lee McKillop used to wonder that too. Growing up in his parents’ pub, small and wiry in a world of bigger and chunkier specimens, Lee quickly learned that cracking jokes was a way to get attention.

Publisher's Summary
Zombies in North London, death cults in the West Country, the engineering deck of the Enterprise: actor, comedian, writer, and self-proclaimed supergeek Simon Pegg has been ploughing some bizarre furrows in recent times. Having blasted on to the small screen in the gut-busting and now legendary sitcom Spaced, his enduring appeal and rise to nation’s-favourite-son status has been mercurial, meteoric, megatronic, but mostly just plain great.
From his childhood (and subsequently adult) obsession with science fiction, his enduring friendship with Nick Frost, and his forays into stand-up comedy which began with his regular Monday morning slot in front of his 12-year-old classmates, Simon has always had a severe and dangerous case of the funnies.
So, sit back, relax, and let Simon Pegg and his faithful robotic butler Canterbury take you on a spectacular journey of self-discovery. (Or, take this book to school and swap it for something cooler…) Dotted with a cast of memorable characters who have helped shape the life and career of a complex, dynamic and unstoppable man, Nerd Do Well is the joyous tale of a home-grown superstar and a local boy made good.

Not your usual Autobiography
Simon Pegg has written a smart autobiography which combines elements of his life and also a fantastical story involving "The Peggster". He narrates his story very well and there are many laugh out loud moments. Great book.

Very Simon Peggish
An autobiography with a manic Simon Pegg twist. Great stories with lots of laugh out loud moments. He of course delivers a wonderful narration performance.
I'd love an addendum covering the last 10 years. My curiousities were not quite satisfied, I wanted more details, but very entertaining overall.

Fact meets fiction
This biography is definitely one of a kind.. Well.. Assuming pegg hasn't taken some one else's life story and published it anyway..
To hear the story of how pegg got to be the person he is now and the professional and personal things that shaped him is interesting and entertaining.
Coupled into the story line is the fictional simon pegg with a robot butler. Who has many adventures spliced into the story. They are most amusing and I admit I would like to see a book based solely on the fictional playboy pegg.
Having been read by the author this audiobook leaps to another level with pegg's knack for theatrics and voices really driving a great story.

so much fun!
A fun combination of earnest memoir and silly but entertaining spy / superhero novella.
I found both equally delightful, the memoir was revealing and heartfelt, while the fiction story was compelling with genuinely funny laugh out loud moments.

Nerd write well
If you could sum up Nerd Do Well in three words, what would they be?
Cornettos. Robots. Mayhem.
Would you be willing to try another book from Simon Pegg? Why or why not?
Of course. MAKE him write one.
Any additional comments?
Simon Pegg narrated his own biography! Awesome. This is like a whole new dimension. I've actually read this book years ago (with my eyes) and it was really annoying to read the chapters about the robot/his alter ego because I just wanted to skip to the bits that are actually autobiographical, since its an autobiography! But, you are in luck its not as annoying when you are listening to him tell the story!!
Just to let you know, I work for Audible, but the views expressed in this review are 100% my own.

Boring, lacklustre and uninspired
I've read 3 biographies in the past 2 months. This was the worst of them and the others clearly miles ahead. I recommend you reas Felicia Day's book or the Elon Musk bio instead.
Simon Pegg didn't seem very enthusiastic about his own life when narrating. I found the fictional parts a bit boring too. There were same interesting parts in the book but overall pretty boring.
