This memoir is soaked in the sunshine of Corfu, where Gerald Durrell lived as a boy, surrounded by his eccentric family - as well as puppies, toads, scorpions, geckoes, ladybugs, glowworms, octopuses, bats, and butterflies.More
"A lot of frolic, fun, and charming ribaldry, as well as the warm feeling of having been transported to a lovely spot where worry is unknown and anything is believable." (

I absolutely love this book!
This is a wonderful book. My wife introduced me to the book when we first met. She discovered it by accident. They were giving it away at her local library along with many other books. We've read it together many times over the years and have recommended it to others. Everyones gets back to us wanting to buy it for themselves! Those that don't know about it are seriously missing out on a fantastic read! I've been looking for un unabridged audiobook version of this book for a vey long time. The narration is fantastic too!
Gerry is my favourite character. He is the books narrator
The narration brings the book to life. It is clear and expressive
The family are the most exotic specimens of the menagerie!
Buy it Now! You won't be disappointed! I don't write many reviews but I was compelled to write one for this book! Enough said.
