Publisher's Summary

Corey Taylor has seen a lot of unbelievable things. The Grammy Award-winning singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour's curiosity has drawn him into situations that would’ve sent most people screaming scared and running for the hills.

Corey’s ballsy enough to go into the darkness and deal with the consequences, though. As a result, he’s seen ghosts up close and personal, whether it be while combing through an abandoned house in his native Iowa as a child or recording an album in the fabled Houdini Hollywood Hills mansion. He’s also got the memories (and scars) to prove it. For some reason, he can’t seem to shake these spectral stories, and that brings us to this little tome right here....

At the same time, being an erudite, tattooed, modern Renaissance Man, he never bought into the whole God thing. Simply put, he’s seen ghosts, but he hasn’t seen Jesus. Corey especially can’t find a reason why people do the insane things they do in HIS name. That’s where everything really gets interesting.

His second book, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven, compiles Corey’s most intimate, incredible, and insane moments with the supernatural. His memories are as vivid as they are vicious. As he recounts these stories, he questions the validity of religious belief systems and 2,000-year-old dogma.

As always his rapid-fire writing, razor-sharp sense of humour, unbridled honesty, and cosy anecdotes make quite the case for his point. You might end up believing him or not. That’s up to you, of course. Either way, you’re in for a hell of ride.

The outrageous sequel to Corey Taylor's Seven Deadly Sins is now available as an audiobook.

Scary Spooky

Well I had absolutely no idea whatsoever what this book was going to be about before I started listening. I got it purely because I enjoyed listening to the 7 Deadly Sins. Must admit I was a bit nervous that this was going to be another angry rant - don't get me wrong, I enjoyed 7DS in the end, but I was worried this book would be a continuation of his ranting. It was not. Not really.

Corey speaks about paranormal experiences that has happened to himself and his friends, and you hear some really cool stories of pieces of his life. I listened to this on night shift at work (I'm a truck driver) and I got scared! I was spooking myself with ghostly reflections in my windows, it was great. I gave the story, performance, everything 5 stars because of the range of emotions I experienced from listening to this book. Also, as usual, The Great Big Mouth is excellent at narrating his own story.

He does share his strong opinions about religion and stupid people, but this felt more like an intelligent, informed discussion with a like-minded person rather than the preaching and ranting I felt we got in the last book. I am an atheist, and I have had paranormal experiences so I totally related to this book. I got scared and teary eyed over the buried memories that resurfaced. As a side note, I'm glad we have a celebrity atheist out there prepared to share their non religious views. Great book.

Still haven't made up my mind.

I have a PhD in the sciences and some of the ideas around Intelligent Energy are a bit out there but, I have also seen things, so what do i know. I have lived in a number of houses with Shadow People, I have seen stuff move without being touched, heard doors slam with no one around, had things watch me, along with evil things sit on my chest and make it hard to breath. I find that some of the stories recounted here mirror some of my own, it is an interesting listen and worth the time if you are into this kind of thing. The performance is also quite good it feels more like a conversation with an old friend than being read to... nice work man!

Interesting but

I was hooked on this book for the first few chapters and then the author starting more and more unrelated BS. The actual paranormal stories in this book are great, wish there could have been more. Chapter 9 is a total snore fest. After such a brilliant start, this book was a let down towards the end, way too much babble. If you can get past the author's arrogance, give it a shot as his descriptions and re-story telling of his paranormal experiences are great.

Left unsatisfied

From the write up and reviews I was hoping for a heap of ghost stories. What I got was a couple of ghost stories and a whole lot of narcissistic filler which Corey even admits to himself during the book, saying the book was way too short and he needed more stuff to write about.
I dunno I was hoping for ghost stories and got lots of Corey talking about himself.
Was mildly entertaining. I’m still a Corey/Stonesour/Slipknot fan but don’t think I’ll be investing in any more of his books.
Cheers

Rambling

It really did have its moments but unfortunately they were largely buried amidst patronizing monologues, circular arguments & lackluster attempts at humor. Corey himself says at one point he’d had to search for ways to pad the book after realizing it wasn’t long enough & I certainly got that impression. Perhaps if the book had been half the size & comprised only of the bits he kept insisting we’d “get to later” I wouldn’t have spent so much of this book desperately wishing he’d get to some sort of point.

Superstitious nonsense

i love corey but he has a very over active imagination. The stories in this book, whilst being entertaining, could certainly all be explained logically given the chance.
