Publisher's Summary

Mark Russell & Shannon Wheeler's faithful yet irreverent approach to the Bible made their book God Is Disappointed in You a modern cult classic. Now, by popular demand, they turn their attention to the best parts left out of the canonical Bible, including the Midrash, the Apocrypha, Gnostic Gospels, and more! And if you thought the Bible had some weird stuff in it....

A clear and often funny guide

Worth the price of admission for Thunder, Perfect Mind. This one got me opening the real story. I'm surprised I hadn't heard of this powerful piece of literature in such a pro-feminine, feminist culture.
In the opposite direction, the wisdom of Solomon sure is entertaining.
The author is quite helpful and succinct in his guidance, putting this history in a way we can understand and be entertained by. As much or more so than some Bible lectures I've been to. Just the same I wouldn't hold it against you too much if you got offended here and there making light of sad and grisly deaths and tragedy, I occasionally did too. It's the world we live in even if I'm one to complain about it. Then I quickly got over it and listened on and learned something.
The Epilogue was really useful too.
It is worth listening. There were stories I'd read before, probably on some Dan Brown trip and didn't believe a word of, such as Gospel of Judas. With a bit of guidance I was able to find something really valuable in these texts.
