Publisher's Summary

The discovery of two teenage girls' bodies and a video of a snuff movie showing the death of one of the victims leaves Detective Inspector Jack Frost in a race against time before the killer can strike again.

Meanwhile, someone is poisoning foodstuffs at a local supermarket chain. When the owner receives threatening demands to pay up or be put out of business, it is up to Frost to catch the blackmailer. As all leads dry up and Frost faces questions over the handling of the cases, he faces a threat to his professional life with the arrival of DCI Skinner at Denton Police Station. Is this the end for Jack Frost?

Relentless Wingfield at his very best

Frost is on his multiple-case juggling act once more with Mullet and Skinner breathing down his neck all the way. If it wasn’t for his sarcasm and thick skin he might no not get the job done. I’ve loved this series, can’t believe I’ve reached the end.

Another cracking yarn

A roller coaster ride again as Jack lurches from balls-up, through chaos, to catastrophe and finally....serendipity.

Frost, the foully flawed, much maligned, utterly repugnant misanthrope once again shows the brilliance of his "light bulb" moments in saving the day. All to the befuddlement of his ruthlessly ambitious and completely clueless clotheshorse "Super" .

Loved by his minions and despised by his "betters". This book observes humanity from a helicopter, with a lens-like viewing all our foibles, evil, incompetetence, horror, extreme bad taste yet unfailing compassion from the anti-hero, Jack Frost.
