Story
Packed with new reporting, Tired of Winning: Donald Trump and the End of the Grand Old Party tracks Trump’s improbable journey from disgraced and defeated former president to the dominant force, yet again, in the Republican Party. From his exile in Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump has become more extreme, vengeful, and divorced from reality than he was on January 6, 2021. His meddling damaged the GOP’s electoral prospects for third consecutive election in 2022. His legal troubles are mounting. Yet he re-emerged as the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

Donald Trump and His Assault on Truth is based on the only comprehensive compilation and analysis of the more than 16,000 fallacious statements that Trump has uttered since the day of his inauguration. He has repeated many of his most outrageous claims dozens or even hundreds of times as he has sought to bend reality to his political fantasy and personal whim. Drawing on Trump's tweets, press conferences, political rallies, and TV appearances, The Washington Post identifies his most frequently used misstatements, biggest whoppers, and most dangerous deceptions.

Surprisingly readable.
I read this as something I felt that I "should" read rather than something I wanted to read, but I couldn't put it down. Surprisingly interesting and well written.

RESPECT
An honest and enlightening look at Mr Comeys’ life and insight to the FBI and the WH administration.
I personally do not doubt a single word in this book and it gives me hope that there are others out there in the FBI like Mr Comey.
Well done and I have more respect for Mr Comey now than I did before.

An educated and experienced perspective.
James Comey beautifully articulates the integrity and honesty he has applied in the life he has led, the career he has loved and the people he respects. Comey gives a clear and frank warning against the insidious slippery slope of indifference to a person in power who either doesn’t understand or doesn’t want to understand the role. A clear example of how a single misguided individual can abuse trust that’s taken generations to build and one bad actor to alter it beyond recognition. Good luck America, I hope the good men doing nothing will see the urgency in time to step up, step in and stop it while they still can.

An eye opening listen, loved every minute
I had no idea how articulate and interesting Jame Comey is. This isn't just a book about Comey's relationship with Trump, but an in-depth and enlightening look at his life, family and the lessons he's learned along the way. His writing is fluent, and his voice addictive. And it's not all serious - Comey certainly has a great sense of humour. If you're looking for an honest, professional and beautifully written book, I wholeheartedly suggest 'A Higher Loyalty'.

Excellent Insights into Ethical Leadership
This book should be required reading for anyone interested in leadership, politics, ethics and the foundational values that underpin our society. The anecdotes are clear, astounding and interesting. This book is a wonderful glimpse into the background dynamics of power in a highly topical setting. The author and narrator is personable, principled, candid and at times amusing with his asides. Truly excellent.

Comey is an expert storyteller
Drawing on his days as a trial lawyer for the US Attorney's Office Comey weaves an entertaining account of his professional and personal life full of emotional beats and teachable moments.
His book is the counter balance to the accounts of former CIA Director George Tennant and former NSA Director Michael Hayden. All three were instrumental in the CIA's Rendition, Detention and Interrogation policy and the NSA's Stella Wind electronic surveillance programme.
If you're interested in this time in history then these three books should be read together. Comey and Hayden's books are captivating, Tennant's book is a little dry but factually interesting.
Comey makes his case for his handling of the Clinton email investigation which, when given his background, appears well steeped in logic and in keeping with his personal high moral compass. I don't agree with all of his decisions however I doubt any reasonable person could make the argument that he was a political hack motivated by partisanship.
Comey's description of his interactions with Donald Trump are very distributing if true - assuming you don't believe that the entire book is one elaborate lie (which would be difficult because everything else contained in his book is able to be corroborated).
Comey is blunt in his conclusion that the US President is unfit to lead a grocery store let alone the country.
Comey's book contains very few additional details about his interactions with Trump that weren't already publically available however his telling is well worth the price of this book.
In my mind this book is a must-read.

Exceptional
An exceptional book on leadership, an exceptional “fly on the wall” look at dealing with the highest levels of recent US politics, an exceptional example of courage and what it looks like to have hope when a train wreck is imminent.
I have listened to hundreds of books and this is possibly the best of an exceptional listening library.
