Publisher's Summary

What if you could go back in time and change the course of history? What if the watershed moment you could change was the JFK assassination? 11.22.63, the date that Kennedy was shot - unless....

King takes his protagonist Jake Epping, a high school English teacher from Lisbon Falls, Maine, 2011, on a fascinating journey back to 1958 - from a world of mobile phones and iPods to a new world of Elvis and JFK, of Plymouth Fury cars and Lindy Hopping, of a troubled loner named Lee Harvey Oswald and a beautiful high school librarian named Sadie Dunhill, who becomes the love of Jake's life - a life that transgresses all the normal rules of time.

With extraordinary imaginative power, King weaves the social, political and popular culture of his baby-boom American generation into a devastating exercise in escalating suspense.

Critic Reviews

“This new epic from Stephen King rates among the best he’s written – no small praise for the man who wrote Carrie, It, The Stand and Under the Dome.” ( Trucking News)

Avoid the show

Where does 11.22.63 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Stephen King's best book and that is saying something

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jake was a great protagonist

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The closing "dance" was a perfect ending

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

OMG they ruined this wonderful book with a horrible, head slapping mini series

Any additional comments?

Craig Wasson was outstanding and unlike most Stephen king books this had a great ending. Highly recommended

taught thriller

a great story surrounded by a still raw memory that shaped a country for a decade & set about causing mistrust in government

Not a narration.... an audio performance!

My only criticism of this audio book - when I wasn't listening to it I couldn't stop thinking about it. And as I type this it is Craig Wasson's voice in my head reading these words back to me.

This book is classic Stephen King - he has that way of getting inside your head, anticipating what you are going to think, and being there with a reply. He takes a concept and makes it live, and makes you dwell on it, question it, wonder what would actually happen if...

Good audio books for me become an experience - the challenge for a narrator must be to make the story come alive, not just read the text, but life into the words. Craig Wasson's narration, his portrayal of the characters, was, for me, just the right balance - acting without overacting.

Loved it!

Brilliant

Wonderfully read. Stephen King's best work in years, the detail of this work is unparalleled. A little bloated in some areas, but definitely worth it. The book seems like King's ode to a simpler time...
