Brown is the author of the Robert Langdon series which includes titles Angels and Demons (2000), The Da Vinci Code (2003), The Lost Symbol (2009), Inferno (2013), and Origin (2017). Professor Robert Langdon, who is portrayed by Tom Hanks in movie adaptations of Brown’s novels, is a Harvard professor of religious symbology. Brown’s charitable work includes a $2.2 million gift to Phillips Exeter Academy, used to fund the Richard G. Brown Technology Endowment — named in honor of his father who taught at the school.
